Maryland Wine Brings Home the Gold from the 2012 Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition

Four Maryland wineries brought home 8 “Best of Category” medals from the Eighth Annual Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition this past weekend.  Half of these “Best of Category” wines come from Elk Run Vineyards, located in Frederick County.

Elk Run Vineyards received Best of Category for their 2010 Cabernet Franc, 2010 Merlot, 2010 Pinot Noir, and 2010 Syrah. Other winning wineries include Knob Hall Winery won Best of Category Red Interspecific Blend for their 2010 Prestige and Best of Category Interspecific White Blend for their 2010 White Oak. Bordeleau Winery won Best of Category Chambourcin. Basignani Winery also won Best in Category Sweet Blush for their Monkton Moon Delight. 

Maryland won 11 of 44 awarded Gold medals, 5 Silver medals and 14 Bronze medals, as follows:
