Friday Music: Mountain Ride

Big Cork Vineyards

Mountain Ride was forged in the Great Valley of south-central Pennsylvania, for the simple need to play bluegrass. For these five friends, bluegrass is a necessity. Hailing from the new generation of bluegrassers, they tend to bring a unique flair to the traditional, and a progressive twist to the original. Mountain Ride is composed of Eric Avey (guitar and vocals), Scott Matlock (fiddle and vocals), Corey Woodcock (banjo), Chance Hurley (mandolin), and Kate Avey (bass and vocals). With years of experience under their straps and strings, they have found something new, something that can only be described as Mountain Ride. Join us from 6:00- 9:00 pm for a fun evening. bluegrass, acoustic music, wine

Not a singer-songwriter, but an interpreter of songs. Ed blends blues, soul, and classic rock with folk and bluegrass to produce a unique sound on familiar songs. Ed blends intricate guitar work and soulful vocals to produce a sound that is pleasing and interesting for the listener. Hailed by trade publication Bluegrass Unlimited as an "outstanding" flatpicking bluegrass guitarist, Ed brings the same artistry to his solo performances.

Sunday Music: Brothers Down

Big Cork Vineyards

music, vineyards

Brother Down’s special breed of “Americana jam” began as a way for singer, songwriter, and guitarist Jason Turner and his twin brother and lead guitarist Jamie Turner to continue writing music and performing after years of playing more “electrified”. By transforming their blues/rock background into an acoustic duo and adding rhythmic guitar breaks in a groove-based psychedelia, they threw in a little alt country on top and created a style all of their own. Percussionist Jason Darr puts the icing on the cake and the results are music to the jam band lover’s ear.

Big Cork Vineyards

vineyards, music, wine

Based out of Austin, TX, Kelley McRae called Brooklyn home for years before teaming up with guitarist Matt Castelein in 2011, when the duo traded in their NYC apartment for a VW camper van and hit the road full time. Thousands of miles and hundreds of shows later, they’ve toured coast to coast in the US, played to packed rooms across Europe, sold-out the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville as well as the Green Note in London, and continue to build a passionate and dedicated following on the strength of their live show. The new release THE WAYSIDE, debuted at #7 the EuroAmericana radio charts and hit #4 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Contemporary Folk Album charts, and continues to impress critics. “McRae is the real deal, bringing some rare depth to the newschool Americana genre.” – New York Music Daily.
