Students will learn the basics of wine along with how to properly taste wine. Students will learn how to properly evaluate wine by standardized methods of analyzing appearance, aroma/bouquet, taste/texture, and aftertaste. Differences between the feeling of acids, tannins, alcohol, and sweetness will be taught during the session. Evaluation sheets with sample wine descriptors will be provided to help the student learn proper wine vocabulary. Uncork wine education will feature Port of Leonardtown wines. Cost is $25/person. Enjoy live music, inspired crafts, fine art and fabulous food from over 30 vendors. Tour the vineyard,explore the tasting room and winery. All bands play from noon-3pm and 3:30-6pm each day. You’ll enjoy an afternoon of cool summer breezes and sunshine on our beautiful 230 acre estate with 70 acres of vineyards located just 39 miles from Baltimore and Washington, DC in beautiful Mt. Airy, Maryland.

Do you love wine, the great outdoors, delicious food and live entertainment? Join us for the Autumn Wine Festival at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury, Maryland. Now in its ninth year, this event offers wine tastings (included with admission), wine by the glass and bottle purchases from the many Maryland wineries, a variety of arts and crafts, live music performances, and tasty regional cuisine.

Come celebrate fall with us!
noon-4pm kids activities: hay rides, pony rides and more activities geared for the family. Come at noon for dressed in your most creative costume for judging, prized for adults & children. Music by Otherwize H2H playing Latin-Jazz Blends starts at 2pm with the first set until 4pm dinner from 5-6:30pm second set by the band Otherwize H2H from 7-9pm. The night will finish with a spooky hayride around the vineyard to end up at the bonfire to make smores, roasted marshmallows and have hot apple cider. The event closes with fireworks by Zambelli Fireworks.

This event will be at an offsite location (TBD). Elegant & mystical Black Tie event with live ballroom, big band era music. Come at 3pm and learn from a ballroom dancing instructor some of the basic moves. Appetizers and wine tasting will be during the instruction from 3-5pm. Dinner menu is paired with Detour Winery’s wine specifically and will be from 5-6:30pm followed by Yesterday Swing Orchestra where you can practice your new “moves” with your swing partner and dance the night away!
