Perhaps Eve was on to something when she first tempted Adam with forbidden fruit. Ever since that fateful day, the apple has grown in popularity not only for its range of sweet and tart flavors, but also for its mystical and somewhat naughty influences.
The Green Apple – Riesling is a refreshing wine that combines the flavors and aromas of apple, pear and grape with a hint of spice. The sweet and tart flavors pair well with ham or Asian dishes. Best when served chilled (~50o F) – refrigerate for 2-hours before serving or serve over ice.
Located less than 2 miles from Fiore Winery, Kilgore Falls is Maryland’s second highest free-falling waterfall. Believed to once be a meeting place for native Susquehannock Indians, the falls remain in a relatively secluded site accessible only by a meandering trail. The waterfall is framed with massive boulders and rock formations and is surrounded by a dense forest that provides much needed shade on hot summer days. Appropriately, L’Ombra is the Italian word for shade. Named for its many “shades” of flavor and aroma, this wine is perfect for relaxing moments.
L’Ombra exhibits intense flavors of grape, melon and apricot with lingering aromas of peach and citrus. Pairs well with ham, poultry, seafood & white pasta dishes. Best served chilled (~50o F) – refrigerate for 2-hours before serving.
As Maryland’s most iconic promenade, the Boardwalk in Ocean City has been the gateway to world-class surf, sand, and sun for generations. And without a doubt, the boardwalk offers one of the best localities for people watching as the “blushing” masses navigate the vast array of shops and amusements. Spend the day overloading your senses with the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the boardwalk. Then relax and enjoy a glass of this refreshingly fruity wine with family and friends.
The Boardwalk Blush exhibits intense flavors of strawberry, cherry & plum with lingering aromas of pineapple and rose petal. Pairs well with spicy & barbecue dishes or fresh fruit and desserts. Best served chilled (~50o F) – refrigerate for 2-hours before serving.
On May 3, 1813, under a scarlet morning sky, British forces commanded by Admiral George Cockburn attacked Havre de Grace. A small group of militia manning defensive cannons at Concord Point quickly retreated leaving only John O’Neill to commence firing upon the invaders. As a tribute to this heroic act, in 1827 O’Neill was appointed by President John Quincy Adams as the first keeper of the Concord Point Lighthouse. Located where the Susquehanna River meets the Chesapeake Bay, the lighthouse anchors a waterfront promenade offering spectacular views. Made with Concord grapes, the Fiore Scarlette features a sweet familiar grape jelly/juice flavor. Excellent with fruits and deserts, as a sangria or mulled wine, or simply on its own. Serve well chilled.
Pimlico Race Track is one of the oldest thoroughbred racetracks in the nation and the “deputed” home of the Preakness Stakes. While the original clubhouse was destroyed by fire in 1966, the century old tradition of painting the victors colors on the horse & rider weather vane atop a replica of the original copula remains to this day. To celebrate the rich and often jocular tradition of thoroughbred racing in Maryland, Fiore has crafted a special fruitier style of Chambourcin blended with just a touch of Muscato. The complementary style exhibits both the classical and playful flavors of Italy. Pairs well with all Italian food especially pizza. Best when served at “cellar” temperature (~60o F) – if necessary refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
Known for being a versatile grape, Vidal Blanc is produced in a variety of styles ranging from super sweet to bone-dry. The Fiore Vidal Blanc combines the best characteristics of these popular styles by maintaining just the right amount of residual sugar to balance the dry tartness. This wine opens with aromas of citrus, pineapple and pear, followed by flavors of apricot and grapefruit that conclude with a hint of honey. Pairs well with poultry, seafood, salads, and vegetarian fare. Best when served chilled (~50o F) – refrigerate for 2-hours before serving.
As one of the pioneering east-coast producers of Sangiovese, Fiore has replicated the style of the premium Chianti and Super Tuscan wines of Italy. This vintage of Sangiovese is the result of favorable growing season followed by two years of French and American oak barrel aging. The wine exhibits intense fruit flavors of cherry and plum with nutty, floral and earthy aromas. Pairs well with all Italian food, anything grilled, beef, pork, lamb, chicken or turkey. Best when served at “cellar” temperature (~60o F) – if necessary refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
For aficionados of dry white wine, Pinot Grigio is often revered as the most popular non-oaked alternative to Chardonnay. Appropriately, the Fiore Pinot Grigio is fashioned after the immensely popular “Italian” style, which is lighter in body and refreshingly crisp. This wine opens with flavors of pear, apple, and hints of peach which harmonize with subtle aromas of lemon-citrus and coconut that are followed with floral notes on the finish. Pairs well with seafood, ham, poultry, pork, and white pasta dishes. Best when served chilled (~50o F) – refrigerate for 2-hours before serving.
With silky textures and rich flavors, this medium body Merlot has something for everyone that loves red wine. Although the mid-Atlantic climate can be a bit temperamental, our Merlot exhibits pronounced fruit with soft tannins built upon a complex flavor and aroma structure that was enhanced with two years of oak barrel aging. Flavors of plum and cherry are complemented with aromas of fig and herbs. Pairs well with most pasta or rice dishes and with white meats. Best when served at “cellar” temperature (~60o F) – if necessary refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
After enduring an exceptionally brutal winter, our estate grown Chardonnay was rewarded with a respectable growing season that resulted in this delightful full-bodied wine. It’s well balanced acidity opens with flavors of citrus and grapefruit and concludes with hints of peach and apricot. Subtle vanilla and caramel aromas converge with buttery and toasty notes upon the finish. Pairs well with grilled vegetables, seafood, chicken, turkey, pork, creamy pasta dishes, and one of our favorites; risotto. Best when served chilled (~50o F) – refrigerate for 2-hours before serving.
Lighter in tannin and more adaptable to the mid-Atlantic climate, our estate grown Cabernet Franc is one of our more food friendly dry red wines. Aged for two years in American Oak barrels, this deep crimson wine offers abundant flavors of plum and blackberry with peppery notes and a subtle bouquet of violet and raspberry. An excellent accompaniment to all Italian food, anything grilled, beef, pork, lamb, chicken or turkey. Best when served at “cellar” temperature (~60o F) – if necessary refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
