Celebration Cellars Winery is a picturesque and peaceful destination winery nestled high in the Catoctin Mountains of Frederick Maryland.
Our wines are hand-crafted in small batches using the same techniques that winemakers have used for centuries.
We offer a wide range of delicious nectars that will delight your senses at our winery.
We focus on big dry red wines, along with sparkling, bourbon/whiskey barrel aged wine, and hard cider on draft in the tasting room.
2022 Syrah
100% Syrah grapes from Washington County, MD. Light to medium body, cherry on the nose, notes of cherries and berries, soft tannins with a pleasant balance of acidity. Pairs well with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and aged cheddar cheese.
2022 Cabernet Franc - 100% Cabernet Franc from Washington County, MD. 18 months in French Oak barrels, raspberry and cranberry on the nose, red currant, with hints of leather and black pepper. Soft tannins with medium body. Delicious now and can cellar up to 10 years.
2022 Petit Verdot
100% Maryland Petit Verdot from Washington County, aged in neutral French Oak barrels for 18 months. This wine is full-bodied with full tannins and bright acidity, producing a well-balanced wine with notes of dark fruit, earth, tobacco and a hint of pepper. We expect this wine to hit its prime in 2 to 5 years, though it pairs well now with fatty red meat.
2022 Scarlet Seduction – Bourbon Barrel Aged
Made from the second pressing of 2022 Chilean Cabernet Franc grapes, this complex and intense wine was tamed by putting it in a used Basil Hayden bourbon barrel for 15 months. This longer aging gives the bourbon a chance to fully integrate with the wine, giving a nice bourbon aroma and finish, while not overpowering the wine. A MUST for bourbon and whiskey lovers!
2021 Mendoza Red (Version 3.0)
Our latest vintage. This version is 40% Maryland Malbec, 40% California Merlot and 20% California Cabernet Sauvignon. The addition of Merlot makes this version more fruit-forward, and has a nice mid palate. Notes of red fruit, black fruit, and still the signature pepper and tobacco combine for a full-bodied dry red that can stand up to any food you can throw at it, but gentle enough to sip on during fall and winter evenings.
2022 Noble Celebration III
Bordeaux blend, with all 5 noble red grapes (Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot from CA, Malbec & Petit Verdot from MD). Notes of plum, dark cherry and vanilla. Aged 22 months in neutral French barrels, then blended to produce a full-bodied, complex and perfectly balanced wine, this version is lighter, fruit forward, and less tannic than Noble II. Pairs well with red meat and hard cheeses.
2020 Identity Crisis
After a 3-year hiatus, it is BACK! Made from Chardonnay grapes, aged in new whiskey barrels for 3 years, and sweetened, this unique wine looks like honey, smells like whiskey, and tastes very smooth and sweet, with notes of oak, vanilla and caramel. Best served chilled, you can drink it in a wine glass or a rocks glass. 40 cases produced.
Blend of 70% Sangiovese, 25% Cab Sauv & 5% Merlot, this full bodied wine has aromas of red licorice and strawberry, with subtle hints of cranberry, vanilla and smoke. This wine is best consumed while it is still young and has balanced acidity and tannins. Pairs perfectly with pasta and almost medium to bold cheeses
Blackberry Syrah - Love at 1st Sip.
Syrah grapes from California aged on a bed of blackberry puree from Washington state for 6 months. Medium-bodied red wine with blackberry on the nose and on the finish. Lightly sweetened, this wine is a MUST for anyone who loves blackberries! Can be enjoyed at room temperature or chilled. 2% residual sugar.
2023 Soft Kiss - Semi-Sweet Rosé
Merlot grapes from California, aged for 4 months, then slightly sweetened. Semi-Sweet light red wine with a hint of cherry, soft and refreshing, pairs well with spicy food. The perfect wine to enjoy on a warm spring or summer day! 2% residual sugar
Sauvignon Blanc grapes from Washington County. Aromas of grapefruit and hints of lemon, and flavors of grapefruit, gooseberry and white peach. Pairs nicely with soft cheeses and sautéed seafood, just enough acidity to stand up to them. Crisp and refreshing on its own too!
2022 Chardonnay
Chardonnay grapes from Suisun Valley of California. Blend of neutral French Oak and stainless steel, this wine underwent malolactic fermentation, giving it soft hints of butterscotch and green apple, but still with medium acidity on the finish. Very drinkable by itself, pairs nicely with fish, seafood, chicken, or cheese and a hot summer day
Our 2020 Sparkling Wine, called Le Bubbly, is made from California Chardonnay grapes. Made in the traditional Champagne Method, this Sparkling is barrel fermented and aged for 6 months, then racked and bottled, where secondary fermentation occurred. We let it bottle ferment for nearly 3 years, gently building up a natural carbonation. This sparkling is dry, light, crisp and refreshing, with hints of pear and biscuit.
2022 Ruby Rosé made from Cabernet Franc grapes from Chile, 17 hour cold soak on skins gives a beautiful garnet color, as well as more flavor than a typical Rosé. Aged for 6 months, still has fresh acidity, but softer than a white wine. A perfect choice for summertime meals when a red may be too heavy – designed to be a refreshing wine with notes of cherry.
2022 Cabernet Sauvignon on grapes from Lanza Vineyards in the Suisun Valley of California. Made in the new world style, perfect for people who like a lighter, fruit-forward Cab. Gorgeous ruby color, aged 18 months in neutral French Oak barrels. Notes of tart cherry, plum, thyme and cocoa. Pairs perfectly with grilled chicken, pasta, and lean red meat.
