The past year has been an anomaly for most of the players in the wine business this past year. Retail has continued to do very well but the on-premise has suffered, across many channels. However, most bets are off about what lies ahead in 2021.
I recently had a virtual chat with Paul Mabray, the Napa-based CEO of Emetry, which is building a new wine sales platform, set to launch in April of next year. He shared some of his feedback on this year’s wine market and what he thinks is next to come. All answers have been edited and condensed for brevity and clarity.
