Celebrate The 38th Maryland Wine Festival In Carroll County This September
Celebrate local wine and music at the Carroll County Farm Museum
(Annapolis, Md.) – More than two dozen Maryland wineries will gather for the 38th celebration of the Maryland Wine Festival. This two-day event, hosted at the Carroll County Farm Museum, will take place on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees are invited to explore and taste a variety of Maryland-made wines. Wine Explorer Passes and Main Field Tasting Passes may be purchased in advance via the Maryland Wine Festival website and Eventbrite.
“All the favorite food, wine and music is returning to our farm setting, and the Maryland Wine Explorer Village has expanded even more this year,” said Jane Sewell, manager of the Carroll County Farm Museum.
Explorer Pass attendees receive full access to the festival, including admission to the exclusive Explorer Village. This upgraded pass includes samples from a curated collection of Maryland-grown wines, produced by more than a dozen local wineries. The Explorer Village is home to a picnic area, filtered water and private, air-conditioned restroom facilities.
“People want traditionally-made, dry wines that showcase what we can grow in Maryland, and we’re bringing it to them in the Explorer Village,” said Kimberly T. Johnson of Philosophy Winery, who also serves as president of the Maryland Wineries Association. “If you want serious, hard-to-find wines, we’ll see you there.”
Attendees with Main Field Tasting Passes may sample locally produced wines, located on the museum’s open pasture. The Main Field features dozens of juried local artisans and food vendors. Saturday’s live music schedule includes Foreplay and Dean Crawford. Midnite Run and The Reagan Years are scheduled to perform on Sunday. Souvenir glasses are provided to all tasting pass holders. Attendees are able to purchase glass pours and bottles of wine for consumption on-premise or to take home.
“Customers have great options at the Maryland Wine Festival,” said Kevin Atticks, Executive Director of the Maryland Wineries Association. “They can sample dozens of wines from the main field wineries—or choose to skip the sampling lines altogether via the Maryland Wine Shop—and gain an elevated experience in the Explorer Pass tasting our state’s premier wines.”
The Maryland Wine Festival is produced by the Maryland Wineries Association, in partnership with the Carroll County Farm Museum and the Carroll County government. Tickets purchased at the gates for this year’s event are subject to additional convenience and processing fees.
