Work continues on the tasting room at Chateau Bu-De Winery & Vineyard in Chesapeake City, Md., in Cecil County.
The 14,000-square-foot tasting room, a short walk from the high-tech production building that was built last year, is in its final stages of construction, according to Abigail Miller. She handles, among other things, publicity for the 2-year-old winery.
Project opening dates are Oct. 4 for the soft opening for industry members, wine club member and others, and Oct. 7 for the grand opening. Once finished, the building will feature entails a wrap-around tasting bar, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a banquet room that can hold up to 180 guests, and a wine library to house previous vintages to be enjoyed by wine club members and during private events for wine enthusiasts. It also will have a barrel room to allow for private dining and a kitchen for any catering needs.
