Catoctin Breeze Vineyard is looking for help in the vineyard and cellar beginning March until mid-November. There is potential for full time employment beyond November, but not guaranteed.
At Catoctin Breeze, we believe that great wine begins in the vineyard, and we put a lot of emphasis in growing great fruit. We grow 5 acres of vines, that being Chardonnay, Viognier, Albarino, Cab Franc, and Syrah.
As an member of our team, you’ll have the chance to be a part of pruning, shoot selection, shoot thinning, and also mowing, weed pulling, and other farm activities.
On the production side, you will be a part of fruit processing, punch downs, racking, barrel downs, bottling, labeling, tasting, and of course, cleaning and sorting. Lots of cleaning!
Candidates must be comfortable lifting heavy objects, working in heat, working in rain, and willing to get their hands dirty. Most importantly, we’re looking for a team player with a positive attitude who is excited about farming.
We provide gorgeous views, and plenty of interaction with the wine making team. It’s a tight-knit crew up here on the hilltop, and we strive to foster a culture built on a balance of hard work and good times. Once harvest hits, in late August, that’s when the real fun begins, and you can expect to work 6 days a week processing fruit day after day!
To Summarize:
March-August: 40-50 hours/week
September-mid November: 50-70 hours/week
Pay: $12.00/hr
Please include a resume with a short description about yourself (i.e. work experience, hobbies, etc).
