A year to remember.
Is there any other way to describe what Nathanael and Andrea O’Shea, the owners, winemakers and general managers of Great Frogs Winery in Annapolis, Maryland, went through in 2020?
It’s a location with some Maryland wine history, considering the first vineyard was planted in 1999 with French vinifera such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Chardonnay. For a time it was supplying grapes to other wineries such as Serpent Ridge and the former Frederick Cellars.
The winery, located at 3218 Harness Creek Road, opened in 2010. Five years later, the couple was celebrating the distinction of earning more awards from the International Eastern Wine competition than any other producer in the region.
