Md. winery’s success with a white bubbly leads to an obvious choice: a partner

A Maryland winery has released a partner for its successful Seyval-based dry white called Spritz.
It’s the same grape and same style, a light-bodied frizzante. Only this one comes in pink and is aptly called Pink Spritz.
In the little bit of time that Boordy Vineyards has put the wine in its tasting room, there’s one other similarity: Sales for the pink version are as brisk as they have been for the original Spritz, which was available for the first time in November 2019.
“If I could change one thing, we should’ve made more Pink Spritz,” said Phineas Deford, manager special projects for one of the state’s premier producers. “It’s already outperforming our expectations. And yes, we have enough Seyval in the ground to handle some growth of these products.”
