“Joe Fiola can laugh now about his onetime predicament, trying to sell other Maryland winemakers on several varieties of Eastern European grapes that were growing in the state Extension’s experimental vineyards.
The vines that yielded these grapes had been distributed to several U.S. land-grant universities by Bob Goodman, who was at Southwest Missouri State in the 1980s and possessed a plant introduction license. Much of what he imported was from Eastern Bloc countries….” To continue reading, click here.
