We are excited to announce we were awarded medals at the 2022 Los Angeles Invitational Wine and Spirit Challenge: 2020 Better Day Rosé, 2020 Parea, and 2017 Syrah. What better time to win these awards than in Maryland Wine Month!
The Urban Winery by Fig Tree Wines 2020 Better Day Rosé – Silver Medal
A beautifully balanced off-dry rosé with delicate rose petal notes on both the nose and palate. You will also taste white peach, pear, and crabapple in this delightful wine. Pair it with a myriad of dishes, it’s just so versatile, it can go from brunch to social hour to dinner to late night by the fire without missing a beat.
The Urban Winery by Fig Tree Wines 2020 Parea – Bronze Medal
This new vintage of “Respected Friends” white blend has already won a gold medal at the Maryland Governor’s Cup wine competition. If you love a dry white wine that can be sipped on its own or elegantly paired with fine cuisine this bright and flinty offering is just the ticket to add to your cellar. Aromas of fresh cut grass give way to a palate of grapefruit zest and persimmon that tantalize the tongue and call for you to take another sip.
The Urban Winery by Fig Tree Wines 2017 Syrah – Bronze Medal
This release will be a little bit nostalgic for those who remember the fabulous 2014 vintage which quickly sold out. This vintage is rich and complex with fruit notes of black plum, black currant and dark cherries. There are intriguing undertones of earth and cigar smoke and satisfying fine oak tannins on the finish.
