Celebration Cellars Winery is a private destination winery nestled high in the Catoctin Mountains of Frederick, Maryland.
Our wines are hand-crafted in small batches using the same techniques that winemakers have used for centuries.
We offer a wide range of delicious nectars that will delight your senses at our picturesque winery.
Our 2020 Scarlet Seduction is a Chilean Merlot, aged for almost 12 months in a used Applejack Whiskey Barrel, from our friends at Tenth Ward Distilling in Frederick. A slight aroma of whiskey, then a well-balanced and full-bodied merlot on the front of the tongue, just a hint of apple on the mid palate, and a gentle whiskey finish. Well balanced, and the whiskey finish tames the tannins. Delicious on it's own, also pairs exceptionally well with red meat (steak, charceuterie, etc.) or a sharp cheddar. Delicious now, and will age comfortably for up to 5 years.
2020 Love at First Sip - Blackberry Shiraz. Shiraz grapes from CA, fermented dry, aged on blackberries, slightly sweetened. This is our third iteration, and we cannot keep it in stock. It is a slow process to infuse the wine with blackberries, and it literally flies off the shelves. Experience this amazing wine today!
2020 French Kiss - Apricot Chablis. This delicious wine is made from Chablis grapes, fermented dry, then kissed with Apricot and sweetened. It is cloudy from the puree, and only 2% sugar, so it is still a semi-sweet (or semi-dry, depending on how you define sweetness). Delicious on its own, the perfect addition to any summer activities!
2020 Soft Kiss - Semi Sweet Rose' Perfect for summer afternoons in your backyard or at a picnic, notes of cherry and strawberry. This is the perfect wine for guests who don't ordinarily drink wine, and due to the kiss of sweetness, it pairs exceptionally well with spicy food.
2020 Sauvignon Blanc from Suisun Valley, CA. Crisp, dry, refreshing, with notes of citrus, lemon, honeysuckle. Very drinkable today, pairs well with just about anything, has enough acidity to hold up to spicy food, but pleasant enough to drink on its own, or with cheese, or seafood or any kind of white meat.
2020 Chardonnay from Suisun Valley, CA. Aged in neutral French Oak for 6 months, a classic Chardonnay with notes of vanilla and pineapple. The oak is present but it doesn't punch you in the nose. Pairs well with white meat, seafood, or just a charceuterie plate and your favorite baguette.
2020 Vidal Blanc from Washington County, Maryland. Aged in stainless steel for 5 months, this wonderful wine has soft fruit, balanced crisp acidity, and is fermented completely dry. The perfect addition to your spring and summer days or evenings. It is gentle enough to drink on its own, but it will also pair nicely with seafood, almost any kind of cheese, and even spicy food.
Our 2016 Sparkling Wine, called Le Bubbly, is made from California Chardonnay grapes. Made in the traditional Champagne Method, this Sparkling is barrel fermented and aged for 13 months, then racked and bottled, where secondary fermentation occurred. We let it bottle ferment for nearly 3 years, gently building up a natural carbonation. This sparkling is dry, light, crisp and refreshing, with hints of pear, citrus and apricot.
Our 2020 Ruby Rose is made from Merlot grapes, crushed and cold-soaked for 17 hours, then pressed to give an amazing ruby color. It is made in the classic French style, fermented dry and aged in a neutral French Oak barrel for 5 months. Soft and subtle aroma, hints of tart cherry and a clean, crisp finish. Delicious served slightly chilled, pairs perfectly with Thanksgiving dinner, or your favorite cheese.
Our 2020 Merlot is made from California grapes, fermented completely dry, but for only five days. This gives the wine wonderful notes of berry on the nose, and it is not perceived as 'dry' like a typical Merlot. The wine has an almost sweet quality, but it is medium bodied with gentle tannins, and a pleasant finish, amazing fruit bouquet, and notes of blackberry, black currant, dried fruit and hints of pepper. 6 months in French Oak. Pairs well with red meat, cheese, holds up well to spicy dishes, and makes a great dessert paired with dark chocolate.
2016 Delightful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes fermented and aged separately for 18 months then blended and aged in neutral French Oak barrels for an additional 18 months. Combined with the perfect amount of sweetness, this wine is a delicious after dinner drink with a piece of dark chocolate or your favorite strong cheese. Everyone should end their evening with this Good Night Kiss!
