High in the Andes mountains of Argentina and Chile, the vineyards of the region are known for growing some of the finest Malbec grapes in the world, produced in a unique combination of altitude and a climate with warm days and cool evenings. This variance in temperature gives the Malbec its distinct characteristics.
Running Hare Vineyard imports the whole grape (not just the juice) in order to produce this award winning Malbec. Once the fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of two years. The result is an incredibly smooth peppery wine that is comparable to the finest Malbec wines from Argentina and Chile. This wine pairs well with grilled meats and pasta.
Jack Rabbit White is the second fanciful wine produced at the vineyard. It is a semi-sweet table wine blended from a pair of French hybrid grapes, the Cayuga and Niagara. These grapes were first grown in upstate New York.
A pleasant aroma of citrus leads to a smooth and refreshing flavor. Perfect with chicken, seafood, and cold dishes, Jack Rabbit White is an excellent addition to any picnic basket.
Jack Rabbit Red is one of two fanciful wines that are produced at Running Hare. This ruby red table wine is made from an alluring blend of Rougeon and Concord grapes. Both of these grapes are more noted for producing sweet jellies and jams, and the Concord gives our Jack Rabbit Red it’s distinct grape aroma.
The flavor is semi-sweet and smooth, a treat for your palette. Jack Rabbit Red is an excellent carry-along on any picnic, and is a fantastic pairing with chicken or pork dishes. It also makes a great sangria!
Our Chardonnay is crafted with minimal oak influence, to allow the bright fruit characteristics of the Chardonnay grape to shine through. Fresh citrus and pear aromas lead to a nicely balanced and smooth expression in your mouth.
It pairs well with poultry dishes, pork, seafood or recipes that have a heavy cream or butter base. Also consider enjoying it with guacamole, garlic, salads, grilled shrimp or even curry dishes.
Chambourcin grapes grow very well in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and Running Hare Vineyard grows every grape used in this 100% Chambourcin wine. This produces a deep-colored wine with a full aromatic flavor, rich in plum and berry.
The result is a velvety smooth dessert wine. Aged in American oak for 2 years, this complex wine is made in a tawny port style to be sipped as an after-dinner drink, and it pairs deliciously with your favorite chocolate dessert.
